Hi I’m Stella Stamper Bear. Do you have a rubber stamping question you’d like answered?
I know everything about rubber stamping. Well, not perhaps everything but I have an assistant Sue Ann that helps me research the more complicated issues.
Please post your questions here and I’ll answer them and you check back on this page to see my reply.

Me getting ready to stamp.
Here I am just before I got buckled in to my seat belt. I was on my way to visit Sandy who is deployed to the Parr household.
And finally, here is a photo of me and Sandy visiting. We have a wonderful long distance relationship. This was taken on my visit to Sandy. Jimmy is the big furry animal to our right. I don’t think he is a bear!

Hi Stella. I have a question–can you run cardstock through a computer printer or is the paper too thick?
November 9, 2007 at 4:04 pm
Stella Stamper Bear
Karen,
That depends on your printer. The one I use is OK for Very Vanilla and Whisper white but jams with anything else. So you will just have to test yours. Just be sure to read the instructions on how to clear a paper jam before you try it….just in case.

How’s Sandy doing in his deployment? We miss him.

Dear John, Thanks for asking about Sandy. He has been redeployed to the Parr household and is trying to make friends with the biggest furry critter he has ever seen…I think his name is Jack.

Hi Stella–his name is Jimmy and he just loves Sandy–they are really forging a strong friendship. Sandy wants to know when you’re going to visit him at his new “base.”

Karen, Please give Sandy a hug for me. I’ll try to plan a visit. Do you think Jimmy will like me? I’m afraid he will carry me around in his mouth and mess up my hair.

Don’t worry Stella–Jimmy will love you. I wouldn’t worry about Jimmy messing up your hair–just guard your little stamping supplies.

Stell, if you can tear yourself away from a visit with Sandy and help me….I need to know how to make perfect circles without using the top of a glass for the circle. Does Stamping up have something I could use.???
Oh watch out for Jimmy ….he might Love the stuffings out of you just because he is such a loveable golden retriever!!!! bring a ball for him to play with while you and Sandy visit at the base.

Hi Mary,
Yes Stampin’ Up!® has a perfect tool for making circles and ovals. What I like about it is that it is easy to pick exactly the size circumference that you need for your project. You can see the Coluzzle Cutting System by clicking on my name above this entry. I’m sure my assistant, Sue Ann will be glad to demonstrate it for you and order you one.
Oh that is a good idea about the ball, that way Sandy and I could have a private moment without Jimmy lolling about.

Hi Stella. Your silly assistant has me going crazy making icicles for my snowmen cards. What is the best way to adhere these icicles to the card?
November 30, 2007 at 6:02 pm
Stella Stamper Bear
Dear Karen,
I think the best way is to use glue dots. I know Sue Ann has you all in terror of getting those stuck in the box but they are really easy to use and stick well to the icicles.
Give Sandy a hug for me, I’m hoping to make an R&R trip to visit him this weekend.

Hi Stella! I have two questions for you. What are the dimensions for the Voila wine bottle cover? Also, what are the dimensions for the larger card that your assistant had us make at a recent class? The one I ordered the larger envelopes for. Thanks!
December 21, 2007 at 12:04 pm
Stella Stamper Bear
The voila wine bottle tag is 4.25 x 11 inches. So you can get two out of one sheet of cardstock.
The large card Sue Ann had you guys do in class was to fit a 5.5 x 5.5 envelope. The card needs to be cut 5.25 x 10.5. That makes a finished folded card 5.25 x5.25. If you are doing many of these cards it is better to use 12×12 card stock as there is less scraps left over than if you are cutting them out of 8.5×11. If you are only doing a couple you can always use the scraps on other projects.
Grrr,
Stella
PS. Thanks so much for hosting me and Sandy at your home for our R&R visit. I had a wonderful time, and appreciated that Jimmy gave us some alone time 🙂

Hello again Stella. On the voila wine bottle, where do you score it? 3 inches down from the top? 4 inches? Thanks!
Stella–Sandy has been asking for you and wants to know if you two can get together on his next leave, which is coming up soon. He’s going to try and ditch Jimmy so you can have some “alone” time.

Stella Stamper Bear
Oh sorry Karen, I forgot to tell you to score at 3 in from the top and then punch with a 1 3/8 circle punch to put the neck of the wine bottle through.
Grrr,
Stella
PS. I’ll have to check my day planner to see when I’m available — this is a busy season for us stamping bears!

Hi Stella,
Can you tell me where I can go online to see the new stamp set “Blooming Beautiful”? I understand that it is in the “Occasions Mini”, but I don’t seem to have a copy of that issue. I did a search in the Stampin Up website, but it said no search found. Please advise and thanks.

Hi Lana,
The stamp set Blooming Beautiful is in the Occasions Mini that you probably won’t be getting in the mail until the later part of Feb. Sue Ann your Stampin’ Up! demo has an advance copy of it–one of the bennies of being a SU demo is that you get to see the new stuff first! She might let you look at her copy, I’ve seen it and she has ever page marked as “must have” that girl is stamp crazy! It won’t be with the online catalog page until 1 March.
It has a vase of violets, a single stemmed poppie looking flower, a very yummy looking bee, I love bees! It also has the deifinition of blossom and the the word bloom in a delicate script. 5 stamps in all for 25.95. Purchase will count towards Sell-a-bration stamp sets too.

Stella Stamper Bear
Hello Samirea,
My name is Stella and I love to rubber stamp. Since I’m a bear I thought it would be good to have a user name of Stella Stamper Bear. If you’d like to see what rubber stamping is all about you can go to Sue Ann’s Stampin’ Up web site http://sueannolsavicky.stampinup.net
You can also look at the on line catalogs by clicking on the promotions page you’ll see the link to the catalogs. Unfortunately, I don’t think there is a Stampin’ Up! sells their products in Jamaica, so you’ll have to be content just looking at our blog and website.
Enjoy.

Recently a reader asked for the recipe for the snowman S’Mores that are shown on this blog, entry Dec a couple of years ago. I got the idea for the jars from Samanta here is her blog address: http://rubberstampingdiva.com
For 1 jar you’ll need:
1 qt. widemouth jar [A wide mouthed jar is easier to work with, but the
narrow one will work using a knife and spoon to pat down the ingredients].
1 cup M&M’s (seasonal to match Peeps)
1 sleeve graham crackers
6 – 8 Peeps (depends on size of Peeps)
1/3 c brown sugar
Directions:
Reduce the sleeve of graham crackers to crumbs using a rolling pin and a
gallon ziplock bag. Layer > of the crumbs in a 1 qt. jar. Place Peeps standing
up, facing out around the inside of the jar pressing them against the glass,
but don’t squash them.
Carefully, spoon remaining crumbs in the center of the jar to support the
Peeps, pressing down to keep it snug.
On top of this pour 1c. M&M’s.
Spoon 1/3 c. br. Sugar into center of M&M’s gently pressing with a spoon.
Decorate the lid of the jar -tie ribbons around the neck of the jar – add a
gift tag with baking instructions.
For your Recipe Tag to attach to the jar:
Directions: Empty the jar contents into a bowl. Snip the Peeps into bits with
kitchen scissors or a knife. Return the Peeps bits to the mixture and mix
well. Melt = c. plus 2 T butter, add 1-t. vanilla. Pour this over the dry
ingredients, mixing well. Pat into a greased 8 or 9 inch baking dish. Bake at
350 for 15-25 minutes. Cool 1/2 hour then cut into bars. Yield: 9 to 12 bars
*Option 1- leave Peeps whole; combine remaining ingredients and place the
Peeps on top; then bake as directed. *Option 2- omit the vanilla, bake and
serve warm over vanilla ice cream or use blender to mix with ice cream like a
Blizzard.
